Analytical review
This review identifies the most appropriate methodologies to relate changes in species abundance/range to climatic change, with a focus on terrestrial habitats and species. The review is divided into a number of key sections.
- Summaries of the biodiversity and climatic data available to the project. Details of the contributing monitoring schemes are available.
- Reviewing main analytical techniques that have been used to determine impacts of environmental change on species abundance, distribution and population trend.
- Identifying preferred analytical techniques for use in the BICCO-Net project
Many of the core BICCO-Net datasets are annual data, often collected over long periods and based on large numbers of sites, thus this review has a greater focus on techniques relevant to these types of data, although a comprehensive range of techniques for a wide variety of data types are reviewed.
