Analytical review

This review identifies the most appropriate methodologies to relate changes in species abundance/range to climatic change, with a focus on terrestrial habitats and species. The review is divided into a number of key sections.

  1. Summaries of the biodiversity and climatic data available to the project. Details of the contributing monitoring schemes are available.
  2. Reviewing main analytical techniques that have been used to determine impacts of environmental change on species abundance, distribution and population trend.
  3. Identifying preferred analytical techniques for use in the BICCO-Net project

Many of the core BICCO-Net datasets are annual data, often collected over long periods and based on large numbers of sites, thus this review has a greater focus on techniques relevant to these types of data, although a comprehensive range of techniques for a wide variety of data types are reviewed.
